QueenMother Donna Adibe didn’t walk into a fashion school. She walked into a room, heard a calling, and answered it with needle, fabric, and faith.
In March 2020 — as the world stood still — she launched Dare 2B Different Kingdom Garments from Houston, Texas. What began as a calling to dress clergy evolved into a full luxury Afro-Chic fashion house attracting A-list clientele from across the nation.
With no formal training, every stitch has been guided by vision and divine creativity. Her debut collection focused on custom clergy garments for Houston’s distinguished bishops and ministers. Word spread. The collection expanded — to African heritage pieces rooted in the traditions of the diaspora, to formal gowns worn on stages and at conventions, to specialty accessories that tell a story before their wearer speaks a word.
For QueenMother, “Dare 2B Different” is not a slogan. It is a declaration. Every person who wears one of her designs is clothed not just in fabric — but in intention, in purpose, and in the belief that they are royalty.
